Carbon Makeover

Carbon Makeover

Green Footprints is a Carbon Makeover campaign. Carbon Makeover is a year long project aimed at making our homes and lifestyles greener, to lessen the impact we have on the environment and the planet.

The Carbon Makeover is based in Knowle West, Bristol, and addresses the question of how we can reduce our carbon emissions in our every day lives. The project is based around six different themes: Energy reduction, Healthy living, Waste reduction, Travelling lighter, Food, and Getting back in touch with nature. 70 households in the area have signed up to work towards reducing their carbon footprint.

Project Agricola Mini Market

Project Agricola

Leslie is concerned about Inns Court in Knowle West being a 'food desert' and is taking matters into her own hands by running a weekly market stall at the Mede Centre in Inns Court, selling a wide variety of British-grown fruit & veg at affordable prices.

The stall is on Fridays from 10am - 1.30pm.

Go along and grab a bargain!

Call Lesley on 07796 796443 for more info or to order a veg box.

Fight against bags!

Local lady Sue is heading up a campaign to rid Knowle West of plastic bags. She runs a sewing circle at St Barnabas Church weekly on Mondays from 12-3pm and monthly on the first Tuesday of each month 6-9pm. Join her to make your own re-usable bag out of recycled materials such as old duvet covers and pillow cases.

Teenagers Jaz, Sam and Dan have also got involved in the campaign and are questioning shoppers and shopkeepers on their plastic bag use. The teens are in the process of making a film that will be played to shopkeepers in October to convince them to stop using plastic bags.
